The Faroe or Faeroe Islands ( FAIR-oh), or simply the Faroes (Faroese: Føroyar [ˈfœɹjaɹ] ; Danish: Færøerne [ˈfeɐ̯ˌøˀɐnə]), is a North Atlantic island group and an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark.
